Inject your kids with a GPS tracking chip May 16, 2007
Posted by Rich in : GPS tracking children , trackbackIt’s good that there is no such thing as a subcutaneous GPS tracking chip, because some crazy Brits would inject them into the country’s kids! Geez, and I already thought that kid-tracking cell phones might be a bit overboard. The scary thing is that someday we might actually have subcutaneous trackers.

Never mind the kids. Think about this technology in terms of how we might locate our brave young men and women that are “missing” in combat.
It is too bad that there is a serious need for tracking our children.
Anyone who says it is crazy is out of touch with reality.
The fact is that in states like Massachusetts where there is a child predator within five miles of every home says there is a need to do more to protect our children now! When states care more about protecting child predators than children something is wrong. I am not not talking about law enforcement I am specifically targeting our judges and lawyers. If someone steals your baby, the technology is there to use and you do not use it, shame on you! With millions of children being abducted every year it is time to open your eyes, find these predators and protect our children. The crazy thing is that this technology needs to be out there for our children now and the world needs to realize we are not living in a fantasy.
This would be a PHENOMENAL application of the technology. The first hours a child is missing are the most critical. A subcutaneous GPS tracker could literally be a lifesaving device. What moral objections could there be to this for minors. Any parent of an abducted child or one who got lost for more than a few seconds knows this is an invaluable technology. Perhaps the idea is too Orwellian, but I’d have it implanted at the hospital after birth. When will this be available??? Someone will surely do this for the safety of our children. Optional for adults
I would love to have this. As a parent of an autistic child this would allow me to sleep just a little easier. Autistic children have a tendency to run, because of that we avoid taking our children to places children love. Currently we have padlocks on all our doors that require a key to open from the inside as well as alarms on all our doors. All of our windows are screwed shut too, both of which are serious fire hazards. But the odds of a fire are slim to nill, the odd of our son running are 100%.
Please this would be a life saver, I’d go overseas to have it done anytime.
you must not have children…If you did you would relize that this is what most parents dream of. I would love to be able to track my 4 year old. I trust the people she is around but there is always that chance that she could be snatched from my life at any moment. Think how differently little Madeleine McCann’s story would turn out if she had such a device.
Actually, I do have kids. Well, one now and one on the way. And my post was certainly a little flippant. I can definitely see circumstances where tracking devices are warranted and advisable.
Where do I sign up? I have a 13 year old daughter that is going to high school next year, and wants to (eventually) start dating. A cell phone, or watch with gps can be taken away, but the chip is undetectable. I also have two sons that are 4 and 2 and I worry every minute of every day about them. With a chip under the skin, I can get on the computer and find their location immediately. Why do we care enough to put a chip in our laptops or pets, but not our kids? This is a dream come true.
I have a 3 year old son and the thought of ANYONE taking him and me not knowing where he is keeps me awake at night. I believe this technology already exists for pets because the owners want a want to recover their lost “loved ones”. Well, I would like to have the same assurance that my son would be quickly recovered and brought safely home to me with real time results. I would like more information on how this technology can be implemented with our legal/privacy/ethical debate. If he chooses to have the chip removed after he is of legal age then that is his choice. Sounds reasonable.
I have wished for this years. I think its a great idea… I’m sorry, but imagine that your child was taken. How would you feel if you had the chance to have this. I bet that you would be screaming that you had the gps installed. I trully am sorry for using such a terrible example.. but, its a sad fact of life….
More information on products and availability please.
Thanks for the suggestion Gary. I’d like to have more of that too. I’ll work on it.
I have two teenagers, one going into Junior High and one going into High School. Both of my kids are very involved in athletics which requires them to travel to different cities for sporting events. They both have cell phones, but as the person above said, a cell phone can be taken away or lost during an abduction. I would have both of my kids implanted in a heartbeat no matter the cost. This device could literally save thousands and thousands of lives each year. Why hasn’t this been done before now and why is it such an issue????
If a pet have a implant devices, because we are so worry that our love pet can been lost. How you doubt, about a child. As a mother of three kids if a lost my child under the clothes rack in the store for 30 seconds, my heart JUMP. Let me know, when these is available and I pay.
[...] unsurprising to me, considering that there are Brits that want to inject their kids with a GPS tracking chip, and that commenters here overwhelmingly favor [...]
I have an adventurous 3 year old daughter and after I saw what happened to Madelaine and her family’s ordeal, a normal family simply vacationing who never thought that this could happen to them… well, I’d be proactive and purchase the chip in a hearthbeat. I have two main concerns, as a father: my daughter’s health and safety (and I never want to imagine her shouting and crying: “Help Daddy, help!” and not be there to save her from a predator); this chip would, to a certain extend, address both concerns. No one gets hurt, the predators have to think twice and the good guys win by incarcerating the caught predator. Now, lawyers and judges, DO your part!!!!!!!!! Help us and not the predators! The law is there to protect the innocent and law abiding citizens.
This is not human, whatever happen to praying to the only one that matters for protection over your kids. GOD can’t bless, if you don’t have faith. Technology is great and I embrase it but this part of technology is not for me and my family, on the other hand, I am not taking an over-site to the fact that we have some real creeps on this earth who target children, sad. This is my personal choice, however I’m going to remain in constant prayer for the safety of my children and continue to be that on the job 24 hrs a day mom. I’m asking GOD to take the role of the GPS system. I will not be standing in the recall line for this tracking device.
Why hasn’t this been done before now and why is it such an issue???? That was the question asked. The answer is we simply aren’t there yet. There two main issues; the first is the power supply. This isn’t as “simple” as a pacemaker that just thumps away. Yet even a pacemaker has to be changed out. GPS hogs up power and I don’t think anyone is prepared for the cost to constanting inject their kids. The other reason is the distorted signal from under the skin. Besides the physical barrier, the electricity in your body must be compensated for. Sorta like some people who can’t wear watches because their body messes up the time.
Rest assured the money makers out there are trying to bring this to you. They know the market exists.
If and when this technology is available I would like to be one of the first in line. It’s only a matter of time before my ex runs off with our son. He has stated that is his intention. But the police say they can’t do anything unless he does run. By then it will be too late. When this is made available I would like to have more info. Please. My sons life may depend on it.
Amen to Kay! I am finding out too late that if my spouse manages to get to the Middle East with our son, I have NO custodial rights as a non-Muslim mother…even if their court system found my spouse an unfit parent, his mother would be next in line for custody. Middle East countries do not participate in the Hague Convention for the return of abducted children either… If my 18 month old son had a GPS implant, then at least I could track him if my spouse took him.
Searching for this particular product brought me to this page… I agree, if you have young children you want to be able to locate them at anytime, especially with so many abductions going on, yes it can happen to religious and non religious people too. Abductors do not discriminate base on race or religion. I also agree that if this GPS tracking device is being inserted into pets, why not children and adults? Why are our pets and material belongings such as our lap tops and cell phones being tracked but not our loved ones? If anyone is making this device any where in the world, I want it and I want it now. Unless you have children I suggest you take your comments elsewhere, because if I lost my child and did not do this, I would not be able to live with myself knowing I could have done SOMETHING to bring him back home.
Lets do it I’ve been trying to do this for years for my kids is it actually available and how much does it cost???
Hello
Sorry my English is not really good but I find some info long time ago and now I search again and I get this
http://www.greaterthings.com/News/Chip_Implants/index.html
May be is this ?
That’s an RFID chip, not GPS.
I have two small children and the thought of somebody taking my child is just too much to bare. Not knowing if they’re being hurt or tortured, if they’re dead or alive. Oh my god, I feel sick just thinking about it. Cell phones, bracelets with GPS, and other things are always immediately removed by abductors. How can some politician, judge, or lawyer tell me what is ethical or right when it comes to the safety of my children. How dare them! I’d die before I’d let something happen to my babies. Why wouldn’t I want the technology to be able to find them in a heartbeat should something happen. Something that can be harmlesslessly implanted and removed when they’re older. Afterall,my neighbors shitzu has one.
I have a 3 year old daughter and another daughter on the way. I work in S. Korea. I will gladly put a chip in my child. Just 10 minutes away on Christmas day, two elementary school girls were abducted. They haven’t been found. I am afraid they were probably killed immediately after some sick F*** molested them. We need to be tougher all over the world with these people. There is no place in our society for these “people”. Since we can all agree they do indeed exist. We need to use the technology we have to at least give our kids a fighting chance. The fact is, that the next child that is abducted, may be our own. If it makes anyone feel better, you can chip me too.
It’s sad that there are so many naive people in this world. Everyone should do more research on these chips before swearing your lives to them instead of allegiance to the ONLY ONE who has the power to control our fates which is God. I have three children of my own and the thought of some sick psycho even looking their direction enrages me, but that is no reason to turn to tracking devices that cause endless problems from possible cancer to “1984″ style control to what many might even consider “the mark of the beast”. First of all, I don’t care what they may symbolize, I know that implementing gun control does not stop criminals from possessing guns. In the same way chips will not stop child predators from preying on unsuspecting children. If they knew children had them what would stop them from painfully removing them from the child? Keep in mind they are already crazy so how can people honestly expect them to just stop being that way. If you’re thinking it can’t be done, you may want to reconsider because for everything made to the public their is always a counterpart on the black market or with some entity like the government(ex: radar-radar detectors, vehicle locks-jimmy tool). People are so desynthetized today it scares me. I can’t change the world but I sure hope everyone reflects back to how much our culture has been changing over the years. We were once a prosperous nation founded on Godly principles with a strong basis of faith. Today we lack faith and have been separating ourseleves and country from even the word “God” and look how the value of the U.S. Dollar decreases. It’s not a recession that I fear when I look at where we are today, it is something worse. I hope you will all give more thought to these chips. They may sound like a good idea but there is a much better alternative.
I can’t bear the thought of my children missing….are they dead ?? Are they being repeatedly raped and brutalized or have they been sold into some child pornography ring ? Do you think the sicko is thinking about that childs civil rights or feelings? We need to whatever we can to protect our children and prevent ANY child from ending up on a milk carton with no idea if they are alive. It’s sad to think this but I would rather KNOW my child is dead and with GOD than to not know anything at all. We Need subcutaneous gps to combat the sickos in the world
I travel out of the U.S.A. and I would like to be injected my self with a GPS tracking device; Can you advice on this matter?
The reazon I want it to be done is I’m affraid to be kidnapped.
I live in england and I would chip my baby in a heartbeat, the problem is the very people that need to help protect our children (goverment, judges etc) are the very people who are often the predators and therefore it is not surprising why parents are left to defend their family. Not one child, that i can think from memory has ever been abducted and returned to their family…..ALIVE and i believe that we are merely at the mercy of these depraved animals….for example look at the childrens home in jersery that is currently under investigation for child abuse, the very people that covered this situation up, were chief inspectors, social workers, judges, astricats (forgive me, my spelling)
I believe that educating our children and the chip will give parents a fighting chance….and god help any sick animal after taking a child that is caught, I will be there personaly to castrate him with blunt object!!!!
What if some kidnapped your child! I think they should do a tracking chip at birth, this world is getting worse and worse and, no one’s children should have to suffer. instead of a child wondering if someone is gonna save them ,or if they’ll ever see anyone again they’ll know everything will be okay. wouldn’t that make everthing better.
This is a fantastic idea. Million of parents don’t have to go through the extreme pain of losing a kid.
Some of you diagree with such things as being able to track our children, but when you child is Autistic or has other medical issues these things can mean life or death..
i hate the whole idea of having chips.
Friday 2 of the boys who live in our neighborhood were approached by a man in a car who offered them a “once in a lifetime opportunity”. The older boy got the younger boy away. He was also able to get a good description of the man, his car, and a partial license plate number. That evening his mother took him to the predator website and he was able to find the man in the files there. The predator was listed as non-compliant. This means he has not been checking in with his po nor has he reported his address….
LETS PUT THE CHIPS IN THE CRIMINALS!
IF this pervert had been chipped before his release the police would have him in custody now. Currently he is free as a bird while our children are at risk.
I would not hesitate one instant to chip my child if it could be done so that no one knew it was there… that it was not visible under the skin. Had these two boys gone missing last Friday being able to track them would have been a pure blessing.
Nik, know where you are coming from. My son is autistic. We have all the windows sealed, doors have key locks on the inside, we lock our keys in a lockbox at night, all because he is a flight risk. He simply takes off if he can. it’s not that he does not like home. He just wants to explore the world. And his communication skills are very low.
I want SOME sort of GPS tracking for him. He will not wear any form of jewelry or carry anything with him. One day I just know he will break a window to get out, then what?
For now, all the neighbors are secondary parents. They ALL have pictures of him and our contact information in case he does escape. And we send it out every few months in case they lose it.
Most parents would love something like subcutaneous GPS tracking chips for their kids. In our case, it’d make the world infinitely safer for him.
This is absolutely outrageous to think that Americans would even consider this! Maybe not inject your kid… if the chips cost $1 put it in their shoe or something. I think its funny how we deal with problems in this country – instead of arguing with judges for harsher punishment for the messed up generation we created, we inject our kids with chips… next thing you know, it will be, “Teach your kid how to think chips! Your child will never rebel (think for himself) again!”
I truly love how none of you put yourself in the kid’s shoes. This is great. “He won’t mind if I do something infinitely unnatural to him. I think all kids should be injected with chips when they’re born.”
Are you guys serious?
The reality is that while fighting for harsher sentences (I hope this means you are willing to start dedicating your life to this cause!) and filling up more jail cells with human throw aways; we must admit that this country and the world has become an extremely dangerous place for everyone, especially children. Without getting carried away and jumping from safety issues to chips being used for “mind control” (maybe you just read “1984″?) I feel that such devices can be used within reason and that a violation of your child’s “privacy” is far more forgivable than an apology for a “real violation” of your child. Do we not go into our children’s rooms and see what they have in their rooms? Do we not check their internet and t.v. use? Do we not call our neighbors to see if our children are where they say? It is a proven fact of science (please feel free to do some research) that children’s brains until a certain age are not developed enough for sound decision making; leave alone those who aren’t capable of making decisions or even know what one is! I am not sure if you are familiar with Megan’s law, but please feel free to check out all of the registered sex offenders that live in extremely close proximity to you (if you live in the U.S.) especially those that live a stone’s throw away from you. Without being paranoid a look at that list made me realize how real this threat really is and THAT is the bottom line.
Who’s going to be doing the tracking? High tech criminals can intercept your cell phone transmission right now and program one of their own phones to look like yours. They can listen in on your conversation and charge minutes to your bill. How do you know that a tracking device isn’t going to make it easier for a predator to locate your child and hunt him down and snatch him at the most opportune time? Chipping the criminals. Now that seems like a great idea.
The world is not actually getting more dangerous. Don’t just recite what you here from the media. Educate yourself of the actual statistics, mortality rate, life expectancy, crime rates going back 250 years, even 50 years, and you will be shocked that we live in a significantly safer environment then ever before. The news media with all the sensationalizing of their broadcasts wants you to believe the world is coming to an end. Its all about ratings because viewers keep blindingly coming back to watch what’s the next danger we need to look out for. In Minnesota, the automobile crash fatality rate in 1934 was 23.6, today it’s only 1.07. Will the news media ever tell you that truth! They will continue to tell you how terrible and unsafe the roads are and we need more money, better road, stricter laws, more enforcement, it never ends. And we fall for it and hand over more and more of our liberties and freedoms every time. Teach your child to think for herself. Think for yourself and don’t follow the herd.
The bottom line is that this is a slippery slope, just like any other seemingly reasonable decision. Wake up and think about the long term and social consequences before you jump into some foolish plan to allow the government or others the ability to control yet another aspect of your life. Personal income tax started out as a voluntary and temporary appropriation, but today you’re a criminal if you don’t participate. Automobile insurance is the same thing. Not that those are necessarily bad, but now you’re a criminal if you don’t comply and the government has the authority to force you to do so at gunpoint! Remember, whenever you pass any law no matter how trivial, you are allowing the government to enforce that law with the threat of violence. If you don’t pay your speeding ticket, after awhile who’s showing up at your house, the Easter bunny? No, the Sheriff, and he’s armed. It starts out that you are required to give your child an education, reading, writing, and arithmetic. Sounds good. The next thing you know you are required to turn your child over to the state so they can indoctrinate them into their own propaganda and political agendas and you are unfit and a criminal to attempt to do it yourself. The government just wants to watch for terrorist, but before you know it, they’re busting down your front door without a search warrant (because they don’t need them anymore!) and tearing your house apart. Then they’re hauling you off to jail because you’re smoking a cigarette in your own house. Gee, a smoking ban seemed like a good idea at the time… Think about this! What if the Nazis had GPS tracking devices in every Jew? That would have been convenient, huh? 1984, not a bad book, a must read in my educational system.
I THINK THE CHIP INJECTION IS A GREAT IDEA CAUSE UNFORTUNATELY MY NIECE WAS ABDUCTED SEVERAL MONTHS AGO AND WAS HELD AGAINST HER WILL FOR 7 DAYS, AND THAT WAS THE LONGEST 7 DAYS OF MY LIFE!!! AND RECENTLY SHE HAS RAN AWAY FROM HOME..WE MISS HER AND ARE WORRIED SICK ABOUT HER. I THINK IN CASES LIKE THIS IT WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL TO KEEP TRACK OF CHILDREN, AND WHEN THEY BECOME OF AGE THEN THE CHIP CAN BE REMOVED. EVERY MOMENT COUNTS WHEN A CHILD IS MISSING.
I have not read every entry, but it is unclear to me whether an implanted chip into our children is something that IS available to the general public?
What are you crazy??? How could you want something so horrible to happen to your children.
If you partake in the Chip, then you are just a snap away from the mark of the beast..The Antichrist. Whether you believe in God or not, the chip will be a way the Antichrist will have you under his control. The chip, will mark every move you do, every transaction and will watch over you 24/7. Is this the life you want for your children, and also, to be damned for the rest of their lives??? The bible says, “If we partake in the mark of the beast, we will be damned for hell forever”, is that what you all want for your kids and their future??
Funny how I’m researching this as a business venture (yep, greedy capitalist bastard here – probably a republican too) and i wouldn’t even think of making this an injected chip option.
I have the same insane panic attacks as most parents if I lose sight of my 5 year old kids in public for a few seconds, BUT…what message are we teaching kids by telling them “I can find you anywhere, anytime. So can these people, and this company, etc.”
What sounds great for a 5 year old gets weirder and weirder as a child starts growing up. Go rent a teenager for a week and see how they respond to being chipped. “You were with that girl again…”
[And don't tell me the message they'll get is about how much you love them. There are better ways to show that]
By the way, don’t think for a minute that once the powers that be know there’s a chip in you that they won’t use it against you. Misdemeanor on your record? Now it’s illegal to remove it (and we’ll jail the Doctor’s who do it.) . Got a speeding ticket? “Oh, she’s shopping at Sears now, we’ll get her at checkout.”
No chips! Sheep. The world is what it is. It’s not a scary place where only bad things happen. There’s always going to be tragedy and heartbreak but that’s life. Try looking into the light sometimes….
People whom think they would actually be able to track their child wherever they went with this are wrong.
These “tracking chips” are not yet close to being as advanced as people seem to think. They’d be really great for identifying a corpse, and I suppose could be setup in certain locations to check for criminals tagged with them should they happen to pass through the area (such as at airports) but are good for little else. In order for them to work the person with one has to pass relatively close to a scanner.
Unlike the GPS systems that people have in their cars more and more these days the little subdermal tracking devices do not even have any power of their own (if it did you’d have to somehow recharge it or remove it to replace the power supply every so often).
So if you get one of these tracks implanted, basically means you are ALWAYS carrying your ID, and that if you pass close enough to a scanner then your whereabouts will be known. But do any of you really think that a child abductor is going to be hanging around anywhere that there victim could end up getting scanned? I don’t think so.
Plus there is concern that these chips might cause cancer. Their limited usefulness, and the possible danger posed by them, and the privacy issue make me by and large against them.
What about applying this technology to offenders? for example with the state of knife and gun possesion amough young people, I would suggest if anyone is caught carrying a knife or gun instead of slapping them on the wrist and leting them go to pick up that knife or gun again and maybe using it, what about implanting the chip inside of them??? so that if a crime is done we can look and see if it was carried out by a chiped offender.
I hear you shout its a start to the end of human rights!!!! but what about the innocent ??? what about our human right to be able to wake up in the morning and come back late at night without the fear of being attacked, murdered or raped???? what about our kids right to walk freely on the street without being mugged at gun point and for the mugger to take that away from society they deserve not to be classified as human!!! If you carry a knife or any weapon than you freely give up your right to be classified as human and therefore should be treated accordingly
this behaviour should be stamped out and only by means of chipping and tracking offenders making them live in the fear that millions of innocent people do so everyday because of them.
I know it may seem a bit extreme but if you commit a crime of any sort of assult on another human being than its for the public protection that you are tracked. I know i would sleep better in my bed and my children would still be alive!!
is there any gps tracking device / chip available to be put into children yet? can anyone guide me to the best gps device for chilren?
I’ve read some of these entry’s where people seem to think these chips would be evil and all we need to do is pray to protect our kids. Don’t get me wrong, I believe in God, but I also know the devil exists too. He will do whatever he can to destroy this earth, why not use the resources we have to protect our little ones?? Thousands and thousands of children are abducted every year around the world- I’m sure many of their families have prayed to keep them safe and return them but that doesn’t always happen. Instead of looking at this as something evil, why not look at it as a gift from God? I was once told Pray as though everything depends on the Lord, but work as though everything depends on you. This could really help people, why not give it a try??
why do people bring in god? that is ridiculous! there is a great little saying that… “god sent you a ship, helicopter and diver to save a person stranded on a island. The person refused the help, and said don’t worry, god will save me. The person eventually dies and said at the pearly gates of heaven that why did god not save him. God replied with: I did try to save you… I sent a helicopter, ship and diver.”
This is great example of why god IS trying to save us.. they have allowed humans to create technology to stop preditors. Hence, gps tracking chips.
It’s an absolute great idea. Who wants their child molested or killed at the hands of some pervert?
you people are increasingly ignorant and sick..
you implant your child your child will never know freedom…
if someone abduted a child they would probably cut thier limbs if they suspected the child was chipped….
you can also hack these chips and change or delete the info
NOONE HERE IS USING THEIR BRAIN
Oh, I don’t know. I think everyone on here is using their brains, however it is funny to think that if you get a chip then your being controlled by the government or anyone else that can get access to your whereabouts. Do you know I can type in your address and see a satellite image of your home??? We are already controlled by so much of our environment that the thought of this does not turn it into a sci-fi movie about how we are all being told what to do because of a chip in our bodies. I’m willing to risk the fact that they may/may not chop off a limb because if you think real hard about it, they can and will do much worse if they have my child long enough. I think it’s ridiculous to think that if I don’t have the chip, maybe, just maybe they will only molest and torture them versus cutting off body parts. Maybe it will serve as a warning to them that they can and will get caught. What will “chipping” a criminal do if you don’t know which criminal took your child? I have a much different opinion on what should be done to sex offenders, but thats a different forum. We all have our own opinions on the matter just as we all have our own way to raise our children. What you think is best may not be best for my kids, but having your child be safe is best for EVERYONE. It’s an option, not a requirement to have the chip. If I want it for my children, then it’s my decision to make. I’m the one who will suffer if my child is stolen away, so why should you or anyone else make a decision for my child when you will not be the one who is dealing with the circumstances? We are talking about the safety of our children, not about the government and what they control or don’t and this is just another way to give them control…blah, blah, blah! I don’t think it should be a requirement of all children but an option. I am required that my girls are caught up on all shots before they can go to school, but i’m not griping about it because it keeps them safe. I agree that at a certain age that a child should be allowed to have the chip removed. Kind of like the legal age to drive, vote, drink. I also don’t think it should be something that a parent monitors. It should be a service that IF your child is missing, you make the call to law enforcement and they run the check for your child. Not something that parents use to see if their kids are sneaking out of the house.
I’ve been searching and waiting for a subcutaneous GPS tracking device that can be inserted in children. They have such things for pets, why not take that technology to the next logical step and make it available for use with children. Faith is great and if you can do it, be a 24 hour watchdog with your children. But they do eventually go to school and they do start requiring some level of freedom from you. This will allow them to have that freedom and give parents some peace of mind as well. Remember, though, a chip is not substitute for keeping track of your children, communicating with them and letting them keep you in formed of their whereabouts – if you really want them to develop into responsible adults who will TRUST you. Anyway, if someone hasn’t done so already, could we please put the pressure on for the development of this chip?
Ok, Your saying that kid tracking cell phones is overboard “Rich”? You need some proffesional help. These chips could save lives. There are kids being abducted every day. A fact is that for every 30 seconds, there 4 kids in the world that are getting abducted. Now it seems to me that if one of these kids had a chip inserted then you would have a great amount of chance to find the child. With that, you dont need to wait a stupid 24 hours to have the police envolved. Not only that you could use these as well on the troops to that go missing. Could save a great number ammount of lives.
I would chip my children faster then you can say “when was the last time you saw your child?”
Think about the devestation of not knowing where in the world your child is? is he hurt, scared, alive even?
I just don’t understand the people that say i should just pray about it. Give me a break. Your teenager disappers into thin air I think i’d rather have the GPS. Don’t bring God into this discussion.
I havent been able to find these on the market but every 6 months or so I look. my sons are to young for cell phones and i wouldnt trust them to always be carrying them. This is not about checking to see if they are really at Johnny’s house its about protecting them from disappearing. Which does happen. Just ask John Walsh.
I “Pray to God” that they finally start marketing a chip for my children!!! To know that I would never have to sit, day in and day out, like the Klass parents or The Walsh family did for months on end, begging and pleading to God and everyone out there to bring back my baby alive. Even if the chip where not 100% accurate, they would know within a few hundred yards. You give me a parent with a missing child, some police assistance and I guarantee that child would be recovered within minutes. We dont think twice about circumcising a boy upon birth, even though it’s not required!?!
So, those of you that believe that it is inhumane or cruel or a violation of privacy. Think about the main objective of a preditor when they abduct your child!!! Wake up and quit bringing your Faith were it has failed before. Do you think for a second EVERY parent of EVERY child ever abuducted didn’t be and plead with God to bring them home safely?? Come on.
I say it’s your choice, and if I had the choice I would not hesitate to chip my children. Which is how I came upon this forum!!!
DO YOU REALY THINK THAT THE MARK OF THE DEVIL AND SLIPPERY SLOPE ARGUMENTS HOLD A CANDLE TO THE ARGUMENT THAT IF YOUR CHILD IS TAKEN, THERE WOULD BE A BETTER CHANCE TO BRING THE CHILD HOME ALIVE? MY CHILD CAN HATE ME IF SHE WANTS. AT LEAST SHE WILL BE ALIVE TO HATE ME FOR INVADING HER PRIVACY. HOW MANY PARENTS WOULD HAVE DONE ANYTHING FOR THIS TECHNOLOGY WHILE WAITING FOR YEARS TO FIND OUT IF THEIR CHILD WAS DEAD OR ALIVE. IF THIS WERE AVAILABLE I WOULD ALREADY HAVE IT.
You liberal “big brother” fearing idiots need your heads examined. If you don’t want your children tracked, fine. Don’t do it.
Everyone opposed needs to consider, one of the first things a sicko pedophile does to it’s abducted victim. The child’s clothes are seldom found!! When was the last time the body of an innocent child was found with his or her jeans and sweater in pristine condition, THE WAY HIS OR HER MOMMY HAD DRESSED HIM/HER THAT MORNING.??? What good is a tracking device hidden in clothing or shoes. Everyone who deems this as crazy or overreacting needs to wake-up to the reality of the world we are now living in.
I would literally give my left arm to make this technology available, TODAY, to ALL PARENTS!
they should be given there own peace as what you parents had back in your childhood and not you guys in your 30′s or40′s but you guys in your 20′s. the kids should have peace
I am an a American with two children an I think this should be a option to every parent out there …the thought of someone taking my children haunts me this would be just one more safety measure nearly foolproof… whats there to think about!!
ILL BUY 2 RIGHT AWAY !!
Let me see if I have this straight…It is more peaceful for a child to be abducted, raped, sodomized, beaten, strangled and left for dead….than to have a parent care enough to invest in a device that could locate them and save their LIFE???
I bet if we could ask all the innocent little children whose lives were snuffed out by pure evil…”Are you glad we respected your civil rights and gave you “PEACE”, or do you wish your Mommy and Daddy would’ve had a way of finding and saving you ?….Well ,even you narcissistic liberals, sure the govt. is tracking your every move type, know what the murdered child would answer. ” I wish my Mommy and Daddy could have found me.”
All parents- please ,lets stop worrying about what is trendy. Don’t pretend you are not terrified everytime your child leaves the house. I don’t care if it isn’t cool or politically correct. It is time to call it the way we see it.
Until harsher penalties for sicko pedophiles are adopted and recurrent paroling stops…WE ARE AT WAR for our children’s lives.
Lets write to anyone who’ll listen, governors, congress, President Elect Obama, even Oprah.
Lets stir things up. If enough people know about the high rate of interest and hence the dollars that will accompany that interest,
EVENTUALLY, someone will get it done.
We just have to get it started.
I noticed a couple posts regarding GPS Chips in Dogs and unless somethin has recently changed, thy are not GPS chips. My Bullmastiff has a Chip in him. It’s simply a Data chip with my information as well as the Breaders information. If he is ever lost or stolen the hope is eventually he will need to see a Vet or be picked up by the Dog Pound and he can be scanned for the chip and my information thus leading to his return.
I would love to have a GPS chip for him as well as my son, Heck I would even consider doing it to myself in the event I wnt missing. Certainly, I would want to be found sooner then later.
As a mother of 5, and as most parents, I TRULY BELIEVE this should be an OPTION. I respect other´s opinions if they do not want it, but for those of us who are forced to live in an unsafe world, why is it not an option? So don´t critizice us for wanting this -and not only for the kids, also for adults!- and don´t stop us. It should be a CHOICE. You dont want it, you dont get it, or your kids dont get it, just as you choose to have your kids homeschooled or send them to school to socialize, or just as you even choose if you want to have kids or not.
GIVE US THE CHOICE. Is all many concerned parents aks for. I really hope someone who can tell us more about this is reading it…
Hi there, guys and gals. I thought I’d drop in and give you all my opinion on this issue.
To start off, just so there are no misconceptions, I’ll just up and tell you: I am seventeen years old, nearly eighteen. I have no children. But I’d like to think that my opinion is still valid. It has been brought up that a chip following these exact guidelines does not actually yet exist, but we’ll continue on the assumption that one could be developed.
I can see the advantages of chipping your child, up to a point. To the parents who are urging us to just trust God to take care of everything: Would you leave your child home alone, without a babysitter, trusting God to protect him or her? You have to take some responsibility.
However, I wouldn’t advocate putting these chips in teenagers (and this does not have to do with a bias just because I am one). It is at this point that a chip becomes a violation of privacy. Small children need to be protected. Unfortunately, this makes the issue a little murky, because when can we say a person is old enough to have a right to privacy? To have that security measure removed? The lines of ethics are pretty blurred on this one.
Especially considering the other issue that’s been brought up: What would it be like if the bad guys, the “creeps” you were all referring to, got a hold of this technology?
It seems like, at this point in time, the liabilities of this idea outweigh the benefits.
So, there’s my two cents. Off to do homework now.
Hi, all,
I am in Australia. I have found myself was plant a chip while I got gastroscope checking my stomach. Originally I don’t they did that. But in the following days I feel I was tracked while I am driving on road and run in shopping center. In earlier days I think that might be GPS tracker on my car, but I have checked my car all around, I didn’t find anything. I find some information from internet, It says Australian has put RFID chip to track cattle. So I believe somebody have planted the chip in my body. But It’s difficult to find it out becuase there is a common scanner which can scan out with over 100 types of frequency product.
It is really a nightmare. Probabaly people in here don’t believe what I said. But it is true. I believe there is simillar thing happen in California. If you look through the web you will know more
I am looking for more evidence to let cop believe me what happen.
See the Movie- Taken, and u will wish all of your loved ones had this implant. Human trafficing is far too real and takes place more than you will ever know. Kids sold to other countries and especially the girls, so guess what happends to them. This sort of crime is more horrrendous than terrorrism.
How can I get a GPS device on my child? Please refer me to the company.
As a mother and a soon to be grandmother, I would pay to have my family implanted with this device. IT IS A PARTENTS/GRANDPARENTS WORSE FEAR THAT OUR LOVED ONES ARE MISSING.
And the arguement that the goverment could trace you is so over done, IF you are a law abiding citizen and aren’t doing anything illegal, why worry about who or what is watching you. The facts are that children and adults alike become missing everyday. If you were to be abducted tomorrow by some serial rapist/murder, then you could only wish that you had one.
So if anyone knows of a company that does this, the implants, then I would love to know the info.
For those like me trying to a company name, none have been listed in the many opinions above. I could offer my opinion as a mother of a three year-old and one on the way, however they have all been listed in some form above. For now I will use external options available, and check in on this forum periodically for updates. I did not hesitate with cord blood storage after researching it. And will continue researching into new technologies that I believe will improve my childrens survival against very real challenges today. I will not abandon traditional teachings but how foolish to resist progress. Well so much for not sharing my opinion!!! : )
it is good to see that so many of you have wrapped your little heartstrings around the concept of safety like very carefully placed barbed wire. technology such as this (the type that toys with human emotions, aiming especially at the consumer’s own children urging them to think of all the bad things that may happen, and think of how, with this little chip, all could be bypassed! injecting the idea that those who oppose such an advancement are surely deranged and care not at all for their childrens safety) are more dangerous than you will ever be able to find out. they will never publicize the pitfalls, naturally. they are selling you a product, and they are selling it to you like a car. cars crash too, it just depends on who is driving. someday when there is a malfunction, and the chip explode and release some sort of horrible yet unnamed bio/nano/mirco disease into the limbs of all your children, you will think twice. of course it should be an option. everything, i suppose, should be an option. but it is just too easy, dangerously too easy, to convince you people that you need something, and that if you dont get it you are somehow inhuman. but, to hell with the consequences-at least your children are not sneaking out of the house any more right? lets face it suburbia, thats what you are really worried about. you know, just like we all know, that anyone sick enough to abduct a child can and will find a way around any obstacle. half of them dont even care about the consequences and the other half are smart enough to avoid them. all the time and money that would go into a project like this should concentrate on alleviating the source of the problem, not the growing number of victims. cut it off at the head, dont give it a leash.
I wish I could tell you how I know the technology exists, but I can’t. Suffice it to say, I know it works. Ironically the power for the transmitter is the heat generated by the body. Once the body temperature drops below a certain level, the transmitter broadcasts a weak signal. The antenna is a small wire resting just beneath the skin. The ‘battery’, if you will, is a soft, flexible devise about 2.5 centimeters in diameter and 1 centimeter thick. It is implanted very close to muscle tissue, away from fatty tissue. RFID chips identify what transmitter is imbedded. Every transmitter is unique.
There is no price for the system, or none that is known. It was still experimental many years ago, but it worked then and it works now. I cannot attest to accuracy and you still need land-based equipment to detect the signal it transmits, but I would guess that the GPS receiver transmits a coordinate within 3 meters of the actual location.
Probably 15 years from now, a system for children would be available, but with many of the same limitations the first gen system displayed.
I work for a security company abroad and we are looking into this technology as a way to track our clients who are at risk of getting kidnapped. I believe in God too but I also believe that we have a responsibility to the people who have chosen entrust their protection in us i.e. our children, clients, etc… when this sort of technology is fully functional we will use it for our clients who are begging us for it now. It is easy to judge from the outside but when you are faced daily with the thought that your husband or wife or child could be kidnapped you think differently. In anycase we wouldn’t even make this an option if it wasn’t removable upon completion of their contracts. If parents want to have their children “chipped” for peace of mind and if they feel that they are being wholly responsible by doing this then it needs to be respected. However if you don’t feel that this is right then don’t do it, it shouldn’t be passed into law it should just be an option that is available to parents and security firms who need this technology to provide better protection. In any case if you read the bible fully it says that the “mark of the beast” is what would allow you to buy and sell, it is speculated that the “mark of the beast” is a chip that but no one really knows fully what it is except God. Although if you know what God is thinking and you can predict the future then, please feel free to write me and let me know what the price of oil will be in the next six months hehe.
To those shooting this idea down.. think about how many children are kidnapped by one of the parents.
In 2 years, my libyan ex-husband will be having unsupervised access to my children. Sometimes for a whole week. This means, he can hop on a flight or an illegal boat crossing and take them to his flea ridden country in a matter of some hours. And I can do nothing to bring them back even though I have custody.
What is going to safeguard my kids?
I hope that in two years, there will be something I can put on/in my kids to keep track of how far they’re moving.
As a mother, I would pay dealy to have my family implanted with this device.
I wish this a company existed who could do this successfully. I would buy stock in them and pay to have my family implanted with this device.
Lets ask only the people who have actually lost a child. Do you really feel at least they had their freedom or lets leave it up to God.
It is up to a parent to take care of every necesity of their child. There are many freedoms we do not give children to keep them safe.
I respect all commennts, but pretend your child became missing one hour ago then type how you feel!
Hi everyone, ive read everyones messages. there all great. im going to be up front like that one guy, im 13years old. anyways iunderstand how you people could want something like this. but frankly, i think its the mark of the beast the bible talks about. the media will offer it to the world i think soon and will tell everyone how its so safe and blah blah blah, and probably most of the world wil be decieved and take it. then what will happen is they will start forcing it on people and whoever doesnt take it wont be able to buy or sell, go in any federal building, travel, anything like that because this chip will have everyones info on it. some of you might be upset at me and think nothing could possibly go wrong with it. look at the titanic for instance.
anyways all im saying is please dont be decieved by it. dont take the mark of the beast.
everyone go to youtube and watch “freedom to facishism” it might not be how it is spelled.
This use of this technology has filled me with dread since I first heard of GPS trackers (I sell them by the way). Cant anyone remember what it was like to be a child, a teenager? Sneaking out of the house, coming home late, drinking (or whatever was your vice) at places you weren’t aloud to go to with people your parents disapproved of. Getting into trouble and LEARNING FROM YOUR MISTAKES. Gaining your parents trust eventually and one day leaving the nest with some lessons hard learnt. How much would that have taken place if Mum and Dad were at home tracking your GPS location? Any how many Mum and Dads can really say they could resist the temptation when snookems decides not to come home on time? The world is not ‘getting worse’. Crime is getting lower, there are not more paedophiles now than there used to be. Why on earth would there be, something in the water?? The only difference is sensationalist media that drags the few stories about child abductions out for months and months. Madelline McCann, sheez, how long did they drag that one on for? One child in a country of 70000000. And we lap it up because we want to live in fear maybe, I dont know. Statistically the chance of a child being abducted by some masked stranger are miniscule. I think how many of my early exploits would never have happened if I was tracked like this. Using the same logic we would ban our kids from cars because they might die in a crash (much much more likely). But that is not the logic we are using here. Injecting a chip into a child would be a decision based on fear that would serve ourselves more than the child and descisions based of fear seldom stand to reason. Swim in the sea, dont be scared of sharks.
Marli, I think you should tell the parents of children who have been taken by predators that the chances of it happening are miniscule.
Its 1/17,000, 000 chance of winning the lottery in the UK, at least 1 person wins it every week (actually twice a week) I cant see how anyone wouldnt want to protect their child if it was possible to do so.
As for there not being more peadophiles about now compared to before, maybe not. But the internet has made it easier for them to organise themselves globally and make contact with their victims, so it is more frequent now than before. And the press should make a major story out of every child that is taken and globally, so this sick act can be seen and tackled at evey point.
I am a GPS engineer. I would caution all who are considering this type of thing not to get too excited about it. While this may be a great idea for a number of reasons, it does set a false sense of security. For example – Those that may “sleep easier” as I have read here believe that all they have to do is look at a screen and find their child. While this is true for the most part, I think many of you folks think this is a magic wand, its not. A GPS of this type (or any) type for that matter must have “A VIEW OF THE SKY”. If you assume for a moment your child has been abducted, chances are slim they will be “out in the open” and then – this is only AFTER you decide to look for them. What if they have been abducted and are now in some danger? Most likely, they are “undercover” or inside away from a view of the sky. You’ll pay for this chip and then its service to calm your fears only to have them greatly fail when you discover you don’t have signal on them. As in most cases like here in the states – When these horrible things happen they usually kill the kid – Only then, do they deposit the body some place and again – it will most likely be buried. Great for campers – Just don’t get your hopes up for more then that until the new Generation of GPS location devices come to market, which I am working on now. After clearing some patent hurdles, I think you’ll agree as well. – Feel free to email me with questions. thezitos@rochester.rr.com
Is there a company that offers this????
If I may, I would like to place my two cents in. First off, I will come straight out and say that I am not a parent; in fact one can say that I am merely a college student. Yet, living in this world for the past 20 years, I’ve seen many things pertaining to this subject. I understand the feeling towards both sides in that, many parents feel that they need this technology in order to have reassurance that their kids can be located, and others feel that essentially this is an attack on a child rights and may lead to future defects or diseases. However, if such a product did become public, I would believe that such a high, demanding device wouldn’t be releases to the general public if it was going to cause harm to a child. Normally such devices would first be tested as military use. Therefore, the only argument against this technology is that, is it an attack on a child’s right of privacy. I believe that it is not. This is because if a child wanted to sneak out of the house, this technology wouldn’t stop them, but only allow them to face the responsibility for disobeying their parents. Hence, another way for a parent to safely raise their child, which I believe is bases on an individual preference that bystanders have judgment on unless there is harm to the child.
Second, for those who are still against such a technology, to be clear, this technology is not desired nor is it going to stop predators from taking a child. However, this will increase the chance of a child coming back home. In the world we live in, yes such a device implanted into the skin would eventually be able to be detected and forcibly removed. Buts lets be real, on average it is safe to say that a person who kidnaps a child, would typically do it on impulse. As in the same way a thief would just steal something just because it’s laying right in front of them. They saw the opportunity and they took it. And futuristically with a device such as this, parents will be able to have the opportunity to take it back. This device is not desired nor would be designed to harm a child, but rather ensure a higher possibility that a child can be returned to their parents. Because in all due respect, don’t just cast aside this device just because you may think it “WILL” cause cancer, are you a doctor that’s studying this? Or that a child won’t be able to sneak out the house anymore, please spare me. If you truly love your child and was a perfect parent then I would say you don’t need this device. But parents aren’t perfect, and it only takes one time to lose your only chance. So think about your children or a child you know, and that one time was them. Wouldn’t you want to come home?
i would love this im not a perant yet but im married i have a fear if i have kids my husband would kidnap them to pakistan were he is from and i would never see my kids also look at maddie left alone perants drinking dear god foilsh people but one thing if they had a trcking chip on her she would of been found by now and safe at hom. As for privecy for teenagers well when your 18 get it removed your choice your under your mothers roof she will worry for you no matter what age you are a perant is/allways/ and will be your perant so come forward give a list of places that do the chip make it compulsery save our kids and our futher
Over the various posts, the main argument has been whether or not it is worth sacrificing civil rights and privacy for the sake of safety for children. It’s a good question. Let’s look at the facts.
~ 80,000 children are abducted each year.
~ In order to be tracked, children must walk within a certain distance of a scanner.
~ These devices may cause cancer.
~ These devices may explode.
~ Other people, including criminals can read signals to track your child.
~ These devices can be hacked by other people, including criminals.
~ These devices invade a person’s privacy.
These are clearly the facts.
I believe that it would be great to be able to find children faster in abductions. Those first few hours are very critical. However, looking at the facts, we have to think it through.
Parents aren’t going to constantly check a scanner to see where their children are. For the first few weeks, or even months, parents might be diligent to check their child’s whereabouts hourly. From experience, I know that people would be more careless with checking the devices. Criminals, on the other side, could easily track your child, learning their habits. They could then abduct your child, hurt them, and kill them within hours. Many parents would have no idea until it was too late.
Criminals might try to remove the device. The argument brought up earlier was that criminals already do such horrible things to abducted children, that even the smallest chance that the device might work is worth the risk. But, is it really worth causing that much extra pain when the device might not do any good? Also, while this might be the case with many creeps, it is not the case with ex-spouses. Your ex would not normally hurt your child, but would he try to remove the chip, causing your child pain? What if your ex-spouse abducted your child, then injected a chip? Would you want an ex-spouse, or worse yet, a criminal, tracking your child when you couldn’t?
Children must also be within certain distance of a scanner in order to be tracked. Why would any abductor have your child anywhere near a scanner? The simple fact is that they wouldn’t.
If there was a tracker in your child, a criminal would be more likely to kill him/her. After all, why would he risk being caught? Hurt the child, kill the child, dump the child- a sick, but very real possibility. Considering this possibility, you must rethink your original opinion on these devices.
Would you want to risk the possibility of the device causing cancer, or exploding inside your child’s skin? While maybe not a deciding factor, an illness or explosion risk is something worth thinking over.
Lastly, civil rights has been brought up. I will not address privacy- this is not a factor worth arguing, in my opinion. I will say this. Remember the possibility that the government could require them for all children in the name of public safety. At first thought, you may be saying,” Well, that would save all the children who have uncaring parents.” Think again. I will use the following example. Vaccinations were a great idea. They’re still a great resource. However, some children have very adverse reactions, occasionally fatal reactions. If a parent knows that their child had an adverse reaction to a vaccination, shouldn’t they have the choice to veto any further shots? On many occasions, judges have ordered the shots to be given anyway, putting children at risk. Think this over. If the GPS tracking devices were mass injected, couldn’t the government decide to make them mandatory. Think one step further. Why not leave them in adults? Why not track everyone? If you consider this for a minute, you may begin to see that this would be a complete and utter infringement on our American constitutional rights. I will say no more on this subject, for it would take several hundred pages to do it justice. Just consider the consequences.
I told you the facts. I told you my opinion. I told you my reasoning. Now there’s one thing left to say. In the end, you decide. Make an informed decision, thinking it through from end to end. You’ve heard the facts, you’ve heard the arguments. Now, it’s your turn. Make your choice. You decide.
