Having recently started their GPS Tracking Insights & Info newsletter, they are now publishing GPS tracking success stories. These span multiple industries including electric, food distribution, fuel delivery, home construction, HVAC, paving, pest control, plumbing, real estate and more.

From the UK comes news that Trutex, the country’s largest seller of school uniforms, is considering incorporating GPS tracking in future product lines. From Gizmodo UK:

According to its survey, 44% of parents want to tag their children with GPS tracking devices while almost 60% would be pay for GPS devices that are incorporated into the school uniform.

Interestingly, 39% of kids from 9-12 years old want to be tagged, saying they feel safer if their parents know where they are. Unsurprisingly, kids aged over 13 were less keen on Mom and Pop knowing their whereabouts.

GPS dog tracking collarAnother entry into the GPS dog tracking market has appeared — The Hear Now. What makes The Hear Now’s products unique is the inclusion of a two-way radio, so you can speak to your wandering pet! LED lights in the collar, visible for a reported two miles, are another helpful aid in pet recovery.

The first generation of The Hear Now products is slated to be available in the U.S. and Canada in October of 2007, and will be sold through retail pet supply stores. They will have a two-mile range but will not have GPS tracking capabilities. That will come with the second generation, set for release in late 2007 / early 2008. A third generation device will add geofencing capabilities.

GPS fleet trackingC.J. Driscoll has released a study of U.S. fleet operators’ satisfaction with GPS tracking. 73% of participants indicated that they were either extremely satisfied or very satisfied with their systems.
